The Bunker Boys battled heavy rain, difficult conditions and slow play during a testing week at Green Valley, Navy and Bangpra.
Monday, October 12 – Green Valley Golf Course
Returning after around three years, the group found Green Valley in fine condition, although its layout required lengthy transfers between holes. Heavy rain interrupted the back nine for about 20 minutes, leaving soggy fairways and restricting carts to paths.
Sunny Khanna handled the conditions best, winning with 36 points. Rob Folland finished two points behind, while Les Cobban edged Alan Sullivan and Alan Howard on countback for third.
Sunny Khanna (17) 36 points
Rob Folland (13) 34 points
Les Cobban (9) 33 points
Near pins: Geoff Williams, Alan Sullivan, Davy Galvin and Les Cobban.
Wednesday, October 14 – Navy East and South Golf Course
Rain again forced players to seek shelter, while long fairways, thick rough and cart restrictions added to the challenge. Geoff Williams nevertheless produced an outstanding 41 points to win, narrowly ahead of Davy Galvin, whose powerful driving helped him amass 40. Sunny Khanna took third on countback ahead of Mike Milland and Rob Folland, all scoring 35.
Alan Sullivan came within a whisker of another hole-in-one. Keith Hemmings and Mike Milland joined the group for their first games, while Geoff Atwell returned after around two years. Presentations at Danny’s Sports Bar continue to attract good attendances.
Geoff Williams (13) 41 points
Davy Galvin (29) 40 points
Sunny Khanna (17) 35 points
Mike Milland (18) 35 points
Rob Folland (13) 35 points

Friday, October 16 – Bangpra Golf Course
Hot, humid weather and a round lasting more than four and a half hours tested patience at Bangpra. Slow groups ahead disrupted concentration, but Uwe Jurgensen remained composed to win convincingly with 40 points.
Davy Galvin beat Geoff Williams on countback for second, eight points behind the winner. Sunny Khanna finished fourth with 29. Only three near pins were claimed, with the long 17th proving beyond everyone.
