A bit of confusion on the first tee here today as a party in front of us arrived with a much larger group than they had booked for.  However we insisted on getting off on our allotted tee time and they moved the others on to the tenth tee.  Lucky for us that we did as our last group just got in before the rain came.

It seems that a break away from the golf in Thailand is good for your game as many of our winners today had just arrived back.  Declan Kelly came in with an excellent score and was a clear winner with forty one points.  Nick Caulfield took second with thirty seven, just edging Richi Hurley on the count back.  Paul Hubbard came fourth with thirty five points which included two ‘2’s.  Gary Brown also had thirty five but lost out on the count back to Paul and took the fifth and last place for today.

Tuesday, Nov. 8, Treasure Hill – Stableford

1st Joe Peters (23) 39pts

2nd Declan Kelly (13) 35pts

3rd Denis Jenkinson (13) 34pts

4th Nick Caulfield (5) 33pts

5th Joe McLoughlin (23) 33pts

The rain gods weren’t quiet as friendly to us here at Treasure Hills today and all got caught before we finished.  Our first group were on the seventeenth when it started and decided to play on while the rest took shelter.  At that stage Joe Peters already had thirty nine points so we kept going and although we got to the 18th green and he had a putt for a par, the green was completely flooded and it was impossible so we picked up and went in.

As it turned out Joe had done more than enough to come out a very clear winner as the next best score came from Declan Kelly with thirty five points over the eighteen holes.  In third place with thirty four points was Denis Jenkinson and we then had two players on thirty three with Nick Caulfield winning the count back to come fourth and Joe McLoughlin having to settle for the fifth.

Surprisingly for a course with long and difficult par threes we had four ‘2’s today, with Craig Hitchens, Joe McLoughlin, Nick Caulfield and Gary Brown having one each.

Thursday, Nov. 10, Bangpra – Stableford

1st Brendan Bannerton (20) 37pts

2nd Declan Kelly (13) 34pts

3rd Daryl Burkett (12) 31pts

4th Russell Gilroy (16) 29pts

5th Jon Batty (7) 28pts

Back up to see the monkeys here at Bangpra, another course which we hadn’t played in a long time but which will now be back on our regular high season schedule.  In comparison to the last time we were here the course was in very good condition and with its usual lighting greens to catch everyone out.

Because of all the rain the course was soft and playing even longer than usual so the scoring wasn’t great.  The only man to beat the course and his handicap was Brendan Bannerton, who is over on a holiday from Ireland and was playing here for his first time.  Brendan was the clear winner with thirty seven points, three ahead of Declan Kelly in second place.  Daryl Burkett took the third spot with thirty one points, Russell Gilroy was fourth place with twenty nine and Jon Batty beat Joe McArdle on the count back to take the fifth and last place with twenty eight.

Nick Caulfield got the only ‘2’ of the day.
