The Backyard Golf Society

Very humid today, Friday, March 14, with shirts and shorts soaked through after half a dozen holes.  Eight of the guys showed up for the scrap and it was a welcome back to the ‘Great Dane’.

I reckon we won’t be seeing the Randyman again unless he grows some thicker skin.  Allegedly he was unable to cope with some light hearted banter about his slow play.  Shame really, I’d have thought his thirty years experience as a fire-fighter would have stood him in good stead for any leg-pulling.  However, he will always be made welcome with the Backyard boys. We love you!

On to today’s scoring and our winner with 36 points was JJ, so well done to him.  Mike meanwhile took seven skins, Nev had four, and the Great Dane had three and also took nearest the pin at the 15th.  JJ also took a couple of skins along with his victory in the comp.

What happened to Mickey this week after his tremendous performance seven days prior?  He only managed to take one skin today.  Maybe his caddy wasn’t up to scratch – he definitely needed a few lessons in caddying but he did show some expertise in pulling down coconuts.

It was then on to Banchang for a few lemonades where the winner stood his hand… or so he thought!  Until next week, take care and enjoy your golf.
