Monday, June 27, Khao Kheow – Stableford

It was a very quiet week with many gone home and hardly any visitors here.  There was only one division out today and John Hughes won this with 32 points ahead of Chris Voller in second one point behind.

Playing the A and B nines today, Dave Horne birdied A5 and Chris Voller B8 to share the pot in the ‘2’s competition.  In the near pins in division 1, Dave Horne took the prizes on A5 and B3 and Don Head in the second division on A5.

Wednesday, June 29, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

A slightly larger turnout than of Monday but still only one division and with 36 points the Welsh boy Curtis Hessler won it, with John Hughes taking second on 35 and Paul Butler third after beating Dave Horne on a 11/10 back six count back, both on 32 points.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Dave Horne and Tom Yahnke, and (Div 2) Don Head and John Hughes.  Don Head also birdied the 5th for the only ‘2’ of the day.

Friday, July 1, Eastern Star – Stableford

The largest turnout of the week with the cut in the two divisions set at 7-16 and 17+.

On the podium for the third time this week was John Hughes who returned the best score of the day to win division 2 with 39 points.  Tony Thorne came in second nine points behind.

In division 1, Khalifa Nasser beat Paul Butler on a 20/19 back-nine count back as they both came in with 36 points each.

There were four near pins today in each division but only four winners with Paul Butler on the 3rd and Khalifa Nasser on the 13th, and Bill Bertram the 17th, nobody on the 6th green at all and John Hughes the only winner in division 2 on the 17th.

Bill Bertram and John Hughes both birdied the 17th to win the first and second division ‘2’s pots respectively.
