Today’s report begins on a very somber note – it is with profound sadness that we have to report the passing of one of our members, Dave Gow.  Dave had fought a six-year battle with the ‘Big C’ and finally succumb to his illness over the weekend at the untimely age of sixty-one.  Dave had been a member of the Bunker Boys for only two years and in that time had made several visits to Pattaya and made many friends along the way.  He proved to be an able golfer and an all-round good guy.  He will be sadly missed by all at the Bunker Boys, may he rest in peace.

Twenty-five golfers made their way to Greenwood for today’s round played in pleasant conditions on a course in good shape.  Having won back to back golfer of the month trophies it seems Colin Greig wants to continue in the same vein, taking the honors today with a well-compiled net seventy-two.  Jimmy Carr’s game is also in good shape and he took second on count-back from Keith Norman in third. Stan Stoker made his first appearance in the winners’ circle taking fourth from John Hughes on count-back while Ian Rattray brought up the rear with seventy-five.

Ninety-seven golfers from around Pattaya participated in the fourth Bunker Boys annual memorial competition held at Khao Kheow.

There were two flights, with the cut set at seventeen.  Prizes were on offer on every hole for both flights so there was plenty to play for in addition to the team prize and the individual winner prizes.

Continuing his recent run of excellent form the individual winner was Colin Greig with forty points, beating Jim Carlson on count-back.with Bobby Collins in third with thirty-nine.  The team event was won by Colin’s Bar with the team of Bobby Collis, John O’Brien, Peter Ryan, and Dermot Eagen.  Following the game, the after-match function and presentation of prizes was held at the Robin Hood, where an excellent spread of food was on offer.

Today’s round was scheduled for the King Naga course and after a call to confirm our booking we found that there were no caddies available.  After a hasty ring around a game was rescheduled for the Crystal Bay course so full credit to them.

As always Crystal Bay was in good condition except for a few bunkers that would benefit from a good raking.  Scores were lower than usual at this course and the winner was Neil Carter with thirty-seven points.  Second, went to Alan Harris with thirty-six while Colin Greig took third with thirty-four.  The remaining places were filled by players with thirty-three points separated by count-back.
