For the first of this week’s stableford competitions we visited Treasure Hill Golf Club and on arrival found the course to be in excellent condition.
We had three groups out today so only one flight was required. Leading the lads into the barn was Johan Smedsjo with a solid 38 points while Johan was one point clear of Ian Jones. Closing out the flight was Billy ‘the hat’ Eyles with 34 points.
Mark Watkins scored the only 2 of the day.

Friday at the Emerald is a well-liked outing by many of our group and with nearly all of our regulars taking part the course was busy, but I guess that’s normal for this time of year. The fairways looked in good condition and with a slight breeze and near perfect weather the outcome of the day’s competition would be down to the player who could cope best.
Enjoying the air con and a cold beer in the club house afterwards, the score cards slowly came in and it was apparent that a level par round would be in the running.
Tony ‘the glove’ Oakes was the man of the match as he often is with an excellent39 points and also won a half share of the ‘2’s pot. Tuesday’s winner Johan Smedsjo made it two podium appearances this week with a fine 37 points while Mark Watkins rounded out the flight with an even par round.
