We had our largest field for some time today and with 19 players we decided on 2 divisions. The golf course is in excellent condition at the moment and a pleasure to play. It was hot & humid to begin and late in the round a large thunderstorm beckoned but thankfully we all finished without getting wet.
The scoring did not reflect the condition of the course, with no one breaking their handicap. In A Division (5-16 h/cap), Stuart Brown (8) won with 35 points, one ahead of Tom Shea (5) in second place. Third spot was decided on a three-way countback with Craig Hitchens (13) getting the edge over Kevyn Wright & Michael Healy.
B Division was won on a countback on 33 points with Russell Gilroy (17) beating Ian Corica 13-12 on the inward nine. Third place went to Paula Koppatz (22) with 32 points.
There were three 2’s today, Kevyn Wright & Michael Healy both getting one each on the same hole while the other ‘2’ was the story of the day. Murray Frost thought he had lost his ball on the par-4, 2nd hole but it was found down near the 3rd tee block after running all the way down the cart path. He then proceeded to knock his second shot into the hole for an eagle 2. Well done Murray!

Mt. Shadow – Stableford
A small group of 8 players today to play one of our favorite courses which was in excellent condition from tee to green but a few greens had some sandy repaired areas. As the course was nearly empty we flew around in under 4 hours.
Once again no one played to handicap and it required a countback to determine the top places with Donal McGuigan(18) beating Joe McArdle (18) for the win, both with 35 points overall. Third place went to Ted Morris (20) with 34 points.
Tom Shea & Billy Major shared the 2’s.
