Aspiring motorcycle racer Ben Fortt from Pattaya competed in the Mag road racing Thai championship at Nakorn Chaise Thailand Circuit on Sunday 21 August, with Ben now moved up from the Rookie class to the SB2 Pro class.

With his promotion in race classes Ben knew it was going to be a hard race last weekend and after Saturday’s qualifying round he was positioned 7th on the grid.  Ben held himself together well and rode a cool headed race and finished in 5th place overall, against now the top riders in Thailand and had them in his sights the whole race, trailing the eventual winner by only 15 seconds at the finish.

Ben beat his previous personal best on lap nine of the 10 with a scorching lap of 1 minute 29 seconds and knows that he only needs to find another 2 seconds a lap to be contending for a win at this grade.

Next month on September 24 and 25 the Mag road racing series continues at the Bira International Circuit in Pattaya.
