Monday, December 29, 2014 at Pattaya Country Club sees the first competition game out of a brand new Pattaya Sports Club golf outlet, Ferdinand Golf Society playing out of The Phantom Bar in Soi Buakhow.
On the first Monday of each month the group will conduct the Ferdinand Golf Championship, which will qualify the first five place-getters each month into a big Championship to be held at the end of the year, with extremely lucrative rewards. If someone qualifies more than once then that place will go to the sixth, seventh place etc.
For these monthly tournaments there will be sponsors awards on each and every hole for A Flight & B Flight. These will consist of nearest the pin on the par threes, nearest the pin in three shots on the par fives, nearest the pin in two shots on the par fours and nearest the box on one of the fairways. As the first week in January will see the Pattaya Sports Club run their annual golf championship, the Ferdinand Golf Society will hold their January 2015 Monday tournament on December 29.
The Phantom Bar is situated on the left hand side of Soi Buakhow, about 200 yards from the Pattaya Thai/Soi Buakhow Markets. The bar has facilities for golfers to securely store their golf clubs and it should soon become extremely popular with Pattaya residents & visitors.
The co-organisers of Ferdinand Golf Society are Peter Blackburn, Christian Boysen (Phantom Bar) and Freddy Starbeck (Ferdinand Bar).
The golf days will generally be every Monday & Thursday with flexibility to change playing days to suit Thai Public Holidays and various golf course Sports Days. Presentations after the game will be conducted back at the Phantom Bar. Transport is available by way of mini vans. Breakfast will be available if ordered the day before the competition day.
Meeting time on golf days will generally be 8.00 am at the Phantom Bar with mini vans departing at 8.30 am.
All golfers are welcome, male & female, low handicappers and beginners and if not a member of the Pattaya Sports Club then arrangements can be made to join the club to enable all to enjoy the special discounts available at the golf courses to PSC members.
The Ferdinand Golf Society Fixtures will be available weekly in the Pattaya Mail and also on the Pattaya Sports Club website.
