Monday, Dec. 26, Burapha – Stableford

It was another good golfing day on the A & B courses at Burapha, with a lot of good scores coming in.

Jon Kittilsen had a fine return of 39 points but that was only good enough for fifth place after he lost a count back to Vince Butler who had a better back-nine of 23 points.  In third place, also losing on count back was Per Lovgren with a great 40 points.  Per also scored one of only two ‘2’s on the day, making it a good day for him.  Sel Wegner just managed to sneak ahead of Per to take second place but the big winner of the day was Roger Drake with an amazing 43 points.

Friday, Dec. 30, Green Valley – Stableford

Word from the players suggests that the sogginess around the greens as a result of the persistent overwatering at Green Valley is getting better and that the greens were running much faster than usual.

A few players did really well today but the rest of the field lagged well behind the winners in general.  In the B division, Bob Lindborg’s 32 points was enough to give him third place while Bobby Driggs had another good round by scoring 35 points to take second spot on the podium.  Today’s top spot in B flight belonged to John Player, who played some excellent golf to record a tally of 38 points.

Keith Allen did a fine job to finish third in the A division with his 35 points and Darren Smith was one place higher on the podium in second with a fine 38 point score.  Kim Danboise, who has been playing a lot worse golf than his general ability recently, finally got it right this time around and shot one of his best rounds ever with a gross 81 and a marvelous 43 points.  No doubt the handicap man will be hunting after him down with a likely “R” next to his name for the foreseeable future.

There were two 2’s today, with Steve Mann and David Davies each achieving that feat.
