Thai Premier League Season 2012
Pattaya United slipped to 11th place in the Thai Premier League standings after a disappointing 2-0 defeat away at Army United last Sunday.
With just one point separating the sides going into the match, it was important for the Dolphins to get something out of the game, however, after enjoying the better of the first half, Pattaya were made to rue their missed chances when Army took the lead early in the second period through a powerful header from club captain Tatree Sing-Ha.
United pressed hard for an equalizer but were caught out again, in the dying minutes of the match when Issarapong Lilakorn beat the offside trap to dummy Narit in the Pattaya goal and stroke the ball into an empty net.
The defeat was a major blow to Pattaya who had been occupying the top half of the league since the opening day of the season but who now see themselves in the lower reaches of the division. The Dolphins will need to galvanize themselves for this coming weekend’s home fixture against Wuachon United on Saturday, May 26 at the Nongprue Stadium. Kick off for the match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Chonburi FC had no game last weekend and have dropped one place to fifth following Army’s win over Pattaya.
