Monday, July 1, Laem Chabang C & A – Stableford

Five groups out today with the equal cut at 4-17 and 18+ in the two divisions. Peter Davies, playing off 24 and with no game for four months, recorded his highest score ever as scored 25 on the front nine and 22 on the back to win division 2 with 47 points. Glen Loydall was second 10 points behind with 37 and Hanke Manfred beat John Doyle on a countback after two scores of 33 came in.

Paul Young topped division 1 with 34 points, the mad dentist was second one point behind and then there were three 31 pointers in with a back-nine countback placing Roger Awad in third, Pete Seil fourth and Martin Grimoldby just losing out.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Martin Grimoldby, Tim hake, Bob Poole and Pete Seil, and (Div 2) John Carlin, Bruce Gardner and Frank Grainger.

Frank Grainger birdied C8 for the only ‘2’ of the day.

Wednesday, July 3, Plutaluang – Stableford

Only one division out today and we were playing the North and West nines. Bruce Gardner posted the best score of the day, an even-par 36 points, to come out on top. Alan Bissell came in second on 32 and then there were four 29 scores in and here Tim Hake finished third and Roger Awad fourth, with John Carlin and Les Smith losing out.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Roger Awad, Paul Butler and Tim Hake, and (Div 2) Alan Bissell, Bruce Gardner, Frank Kelly and Hanke Manfred.

Alan Bissell birdied the 3rd hole on the West course for the sole ‘2’ of the day.

Friday, July 5,
Eastern Star – Stableford

An equal cut today in the two divisions at 12-18 and 19+ and 36 points was the highest score, coming from Tony Thorne to win division 2. John Doyle was second on 33, Hanke Manfred placed third on 32 and the organiser was fourth with a meager 30 points.

Marty Rock won division 1 with 36 points, with Colin Aspinall second on 33, Frank Kelly third one point behind Colin and Les Smith taking fourth on countback over Paul Butler and John Carlin, all with 31 points.

Marty Rock won 3 near pin prizes in division 1 and John Carlin had one on the 6th hole in division 2.
