Monday, August 21, Pattana – Stableford

We were playing the B and C nines today with two divisions out.

Tim Hake scored a remarkable 23 points on the front nine off his 15-handicap to win division 1 with 36 points overall.  Steve Godfrey was in second place on 33 and Tom Yahnke took third with 32.

Playing off a 23-handicap, Steve Cohen hits his best ever round to win division 2 with a massive 45 points.  Frank Grainger was second with 37 Rod Howett claimed third on 31.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler, Ray Daws and Tim Hake, and (Div 2) Steve Cohen, Bruce Gardner, Rod Howett and Bob Poole.

Steve Cohen birdied C7 in division 2 for the only ‘2’ of the day.

Wednesday, August 23, Silky Oak – Stableford

A similar turnout to Monday and despite a few moans from the players regarding the carry off some of the tees we stuck with the whites today.

Les Smith recorded the highest score of the day, winning division 1 with 40 points while Michael Handley was second on 38 and Paul Butler came in third with 35.

After being cut three shots, Steve Cohen beat Alan Bissell on a 13/12 back-six count back to win the second flight after they both scored 38 points overall.  In third place was Khalifa Nasser on 36.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Mikael Andersson and Michael Handley (3), and (Div 2) Alan Bissell (2), Steve Cohen and Frank Kelly.  Steve Cohen again recorded the only ‘2’ of the day.

Friday, August 25, Eastern Star – Stableford

Some lower scores today and the cut in the two divisions came at 13-17 and 18+ in division 2.

Frank Kelly’s 34 points was the highest of the day, winning division 2 while Glyn Evans came second with 31 points and Rod Howett finished third after beating Steve Harris on count back, both with 29 points overall.

Mikael Andersson was the winner in division 1 with 33 points and Colin Aspinall was one point behind in second.  Paul Butler did not make the podium after losing out to Bruce Gardner on a 15/13 back nine count back for third after they both shot 29 points.

Frank Kelly was the only near pin winner and Glyn Evans took the rollover ‘2’s pot in division 2. is the only winner on the 6th in division 2.
