Chris Martin, who damn near paid for this vacation with his society winnings, capped off his fine play with a man of the match 40 points at Green Valley.  Chris had an eagle on the 14th hole, hitting a five-iron from around half way down the fairway onto the green and sinking the put for five points.

Ed Wyckoff.

Chris was born in Manchester but now lives in Birmingham, Alabama.  During his time playing with Lewiinski’s he has been a pay-window visitor on numerous occasions.  His next visit is in November this year and we look forward to his return, but hopefully not in such good form.

Three points in arrears was Phil ‘the Welsh wonder’ Davies and a further point back was Peter ‘the silvers surfer’ Henshaw.  All that was left was to discern that big Dave Boran had the count back better of Jim Brady to close the podium places.

Wednesday, Sept. 21, Pattana A & C – Stableford

1st Ed Wyckoff (13) 38pts

2nd Pierre Zbinden (23) 38pts

3rd Marcus Earp (30) 37pts

With Monday’s game at Greenwood cancelled, the lads were eager to play on Wednesday.

The more we play at Pattana the more we get to understand its little quirks, but it is still a fairly long slog over the A+C nines.  Once again the length proved to be the undoing of most of the field, with many trying to hit the ball a little too hard and suffering the consequences of the subsequent loss of rhythm.

Ed ‘our man in the white house’ Wyckoff’s normal big hitting game stood him in good stead, especially on the inner nine as he took the day’s honours on count back over Pierre Zbinden, but only by the slimmest of margins to deny Pierre his first win for as long as anyone can remember.  It surely will not be too long in the future when Pierre will be on the top step of the podium, but on this day Ed’s long game made the difference.

Marcus Earp made sure he got a mention with a count back victory over Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw, which left Peter at sea level and potless.

Friday, Sept. 23, Treasure Hill – Stableford

1st Kevin Rogers (12) 41pts

2nd Adam Barton (16) 38pts

3rd Peter Henshaw (27) 33pts

A fair sized turnout on the day travelled up the 331 highway to take on the tough Treasure Hill, and it turned out to be a very good day for one player in particular who found himself three strokes clear of his nearest rival.  I am referring to Kevin ‘the thunder from down under’ Rogers with his 41 points.  Second on the day was big hitting Adam Barton while Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw, never far from the action, rounded out the flight with 33 points.

Note: Lewiinski’s is situated on Pattaya land Soi 1, Beach Rd Soi13/13 near Walking Street.  Anyone wishing to play with us just pop in and add your name to the list or call Peter on 086 139 6301.  Transport is provided.
