Phoenix Tuesday/Friday Golf Group

On Friday 18th May we had two nice four-ball matches and welcomed back a couple of old friends (Brian Jacks and Richard Tereskieviche) who in turn brought along a newcomer, Steve Murray.

With the course now getting up towards full speed (the greens that is) scoring was quite low under the difficult conditions.  Three players scored only 31 points each to tie first place with Steve winning on count back of the last nine holes and Bill Hewitt and Kevin Bird sharing second with the same score and count back.

On to Tuesday 22nd May and with myself a little under the weather, Bob Neylon duly took over the scribe’s chair, which must have inspired him to greater things.  Bob (The Boston Burglar) Neylon shot a superb score of 40 points to win the day.  Bob did a magnificent job of looking after the day in my absence that he may well be a contender to take over full time!  However, he will have to find a camera from somewhere because we do not have a photo of himself with the pretty girls from the Relax Bar.

In second place was Richard Tereskieviche with 36 points and in third was Joris Goetschalkx with 30 points.

There were no near pins today but the lucky draw prizes (sponsored by The Relax Bar) went to the Italian connection of Giorgio Baccioli, Sergio Volpi & Adriano Reale.

Next week we play our monthly stroke play tournament for the Trattoria Italiana voucher graciously donated by Giorgio Baccioli every month.
