PSC golf from the Fairways Golf Society

Monday, Feb. 7, Khao Kheow – Stableford

When we arrived today we were allotted C & A courses and not one of the thirty four golfers playing managed to play to their handicap.

The competition was close, especially in the B flight where three people finished on one over par so there was a count-back for all three places.  Jan Van Spelling had to settle for second place after his better half Thea beat him 18-16 on the back nine.  Terry Fox was pushed back into third place on a 12 -11 back six.

Wednesday, Feb. 9, Crystal Bay – Stableford

With the large field again today split into two divisions the cut off was 0 to 15 & 16 to 28.

Only one golfer managed to break par today, Dave Booton, and I think he must have had three shredded wheats for breakfast as he took the B flight with a great round of 40 points, a massive 5 shots better than the next best score.  Well played Dave.

Near pins went to Gary Saunders (2), Dave Dunn and Dave Booton.

Friday, Feb. 11, Greenwood – Stableford

We were allocated B & C courses on our arrival today and found them both to be in excellent condition, with the greens were a little on the slow side but very true.  There was also a light breeze and conditions were ideal for golf.
