After months of fund-raising and shopping, the Thai Garden Resort delivered its “Toys for Joy” to happy children at Tungklom-Talman School.

General Manager Rene Pisters, Manager Danilo Becker and Ruedi Flatt, a Swiss donor, joined employees of the Pattaya hotel Jan. 30 to distribute gifts purchased with 60,000 baht in donations from workers and guests before Christmas.

It took another month of shopping after the holiday to fulfill all the kids’ requests.

The guests were welcomed with songs and dances and, afterward, the children sat down to wait for their presents.

Pisters said it was high time to bring the kids the necessities of daily life. Most of the children were wearing socks with more holes than in Emmental cheese.

The children who received items like shoes, socks, and school supplies, but also toys and sweets are mostly orphans or half-orphans and their families can only afford base necessities.
