Pattaya Sports Club Charity Update
Pattaya Sports Club and the Bunker Bar came together recently to provide clean drinking water to School No. 1 in Pattaya.
Nittaya Patimasongkroh of the YWCA passed the original enquiry to the PSC and, using the excellent water filtration system of the Rotary Club of Jomtien Pattaya, the children now have drinking water whenever it is needed. We sometimes forget how important water is to good health and Pattaya Sports Club is always happy to help whenever we can in achieving this.
The adults were just as happy to see the children get clean water. (l-r) Prasert Pimonsakul Director of Pattaya School No. 1, William Macey Charity Chairman of the PSC, Nittaya Patimasongkroh, Chairwoman, YWCA Bangkok Pattaya Centre, Jintana Maensurin, Pattaya City Director of the Centre for Religious and Cultural studies, Philip Wall Morris, Community Service Director, Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya, Suree Boonraksa, Deputy Director, Pattaya School No. 1 and Richard Haughton, President of the Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya.
The handover was made on Tuesday, February 1st and, in addition to representatives from the above, Dr. Thawatchai Rattanyu, director of Education of Pattaya City and her deputy, Mrs Jintana Maensurin were present.
The Bunker Bar has now, for the past 5 years, held a charity golf event in November to raise funds to help the underprivileged and handicapped children of Pattaya. Well done Mick Ramshaw.
There is no greater reward for helping children less fortunate than ourselves than to see the smile on the children’s faces as only Thai children can smile.
The children say thanks.
The filter system is ready to use.
Children drink from the stainless steel trough where the water is obtained.
