Pattaya observes first ever Global Female Condom Day

For the first time ever, people from all over the world observed Global Female Condom Day on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Locally, the Health and Opportunity Network (HON), with help from the United Nations Population Fund of Thailand and Pattaya City, held 5 days of marches, Sept. 10-14, to promote the use of condoms to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.

The event will wrap up on Friday, Sept. 14 on Walking Street beginning at 5 p.m. with stage shows and exhibition booths introducing, demonstrating and educating the public on condoms use.

At 7 p.m., Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and Dr. Thaweezup Sirapraphasiri, representative from UNFPA will hold a press conference, followed by a short film titled “Female Condom”. Performances, music and various activities will last until 11 p.m.
