Nongprue women make merit for charity

Nongprue’s Women’s Development Club called on sub-district residents on International Women’s Day to make merit and help area charities.

Club President Jamnien Chaiyanit opened the March 8 merit-making ceremony at the Nongprue municipal office. Nine monks from Samakee Pracharam Temple chanted and received alms.

Funds raised went to the Father Ray Foundation, Baan Jing Jai orphanage, Baan Pak Rak Puan and poor families in the community.

Nine Monks from Wat Samakee Pracharam (Wat Tungklom) were invited to receive alms on the occasion of International Woman’s Day where Nongprue councilors and members of the Woman’s Development Center held activities to raise funds and collect donations to support local foundations and poor families in the community.

Later, Deputy Mayor Eneak Pattanangam chaired the club’s monthly meeting where members congratulated Thanaporn Luangborisut who was nominated for the Outstanding Woman award for social development and humanitarian projects.

Other activities included a “shop, invite, taste” festival and a rally for charity foundations and poor families.
