Pascal has been in the food supplement industry for 27 years, including 16 years as a nutrition coach and founder of the Pattaya Nutrition Club in 2007. His background is in sales, marketing, coaching, mergers/acquisitions, insurance and information technology, but his passion is in the food supplement business.

Pascal, in his opening statement said of the health food supplement industry, “It’s not a job, it’s my hobby!” Further, it was his own health issues that drove him to learn more about nutrition and food supplements; then, in 2001, he co-founded the Belgium Nutrition Club. But, after a break-up with a girlfriend, he was encouraged to visit Thailand and start a nutrition business here. His first impression was that the Thai people tend to eat well and that they do not have much of a weight problem. However, he soon discovered that the market is with the “Farangs” (foreigners), seeking a healthier lifestyle in Thailand and the rest is history.

In March of 2013, he started manufacturing probiotic Kefir milk, yogurt and cheese, called Mama Kefir, then introduced Kefir skin care Alive Skin and probiotic Kefir waters, Alive Drink. He then introduced organic food Superfood Thailand and in the past year, he included more organic and natural products. These include detox programs, honey, colloidal water, pastes, bars, beans, cold pressed oils, etc. He then partnered with Truly Organic and its managing director, Warren Barr.

Warren Barr comments on why nutrition is important for generating cellular health as he explains the importance of cells in the body and how they regenerate.

Partnering with experts, they supply anti-aging and wellness related foods. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6:30 pm.

Warren then took over the presentation as he discussed regenerating cellular health by increasing cellular nutrition. Warren is the managing director of Truly Organic Co. Ltd., also the director of Medifoods (Thailand) Co. Ltd., and is the executive director of SHOTZ (Thailand) CO. Ltd. His background includes being an accountant and he has been a food and pharmaceutical professional for 30 years, with PWC, Glass/Smith/Kline and Associated British Foods, PLC. He is an Ironman triathlete and is studying Naturopath.

He started by pointing out that the goal of cellular generation is to provide body protection and to ensure effective body system functions. He notes that cellular malfunction causes people to become unhealthy and that cells need rejuvenation. Factors that lead to health issues that he mentioned are: Age, Autoimmune/Skin/Gut Disorders, along with Chronic Illnesses. He cites nutrient depletion, caused by industry driven commercial objectives that focus on refining whole foods. He also notes that the medical industry focuses on the disease and not on health or on the causes of poor health.

Warren, with the aid of video slides, described why cellular nutrition is important. Our cells are the most basic units of life and combine to form more complex tissues and organs, which become our body systems and our energy sources. These systems include the skeletal, nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive and integumentary systems.

Warren mentioned that Truly Organics provide products that increase nutrition and protection to all systems of the body. They are organic and toxin free. Body protection is provided to combat free radicals and increases whole food nutrition balance. These products complement medical therapy and give back health and joy.

Good health is given back through minimally processed, organic, natural foods, skim products and education, to support overall cellular health. The products are specifically formulated by medical practitioners, naturopaths and nutritionist to work towards better health. Warren indicated that they work with farming groups and the Thai Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) to address raw material shortages, in order to bring in more sustainable agriculture and to provide better, value-added exports.

During the question and answer session after the presentation, samples of Pascal’s Kafir products were handed out to PCEC members and guests. They also had staff outside on the terrace with a display of and answering any questions about their various nutritional products.

After the presentation, MC Roy Albiston brought everyone up to date on upcoming events and called on Ira Wettenstein to conduct the Open Forum, where questions are asked and answered about Expat living in Thailand, especially Pattaya.
