An evening of Sparkling wines at Mantra

Over the course of the year the Amari Pattaya have hosted wines from all over the world for their highly popular monthly Wine Experiences.

In the last few months these have moved from the grounds of the Amari to the upper gallery at Mantra restaurant and bar and to round off the year the management held an extra special Sparkling Wine Experience on Friday the 9th of December.

Executive Chef Shaun Venter created a vast number of delicacies such as smoked pork loin, salmon larb, sea bass in puff pastry, lamb stew, seafood saffron paella, sweet and sour wok fried snapper, butter chicken, as well as soups, salads and pickled vegetables.

Guests were able to sample five different sparkling wines: from Italy was the Conte Fosco Spumante Brut, an extra sweet dessert wine.

The Val D’oca, Prosecco Blu Millesimato DOC, which is an extra dry aromatic wine served from a beautiful blue bottle.

From Spain was the Pere Ventura, Mas Pere Seleccio Cava, which paired well with the sea bass in puff pastry.

The Spumante Brut Coralba from Italy as the name suggests this is an extra dry wine with an alcohol volume of 11%.

Lastly the Celine Brut, a classic blend of French grapes from the Rhone valley that proved to be a perfect accompaniment to the lamb stew and butter chicken.

The evening finished off with a selection of desserts including chocolate truffle cake, lemon meringue pie, coconut cake and a variety of fruits and cheeses.

The monthly Wine Experience normally falls on the last Friday of the month, this one was brought forward to allow for Christmas and New Year, so it’s likely the next event will be at the end of January 2017 and will be publicized in forthcoming editions of the Pattaya Mail.
