Chinese dragons brought Third Road traffic to a halt June 7 as a parade celebrated the opening of the 88 Sichuan hot pot restaurant.

The brainchild of Liu Songbai of China, the new North Pattaya outlet at Third Road and Soi 6 is the second location to open in Thailand after Bangkok.

Tables are set up with single burners for groups to share, or individual burners for each person at a table of six.

The entire restaurant is decorated in authentic Chinese style and the vegetables and meats are chosen for their freshness, taste and authenticity for the spicy Sichuan cuisine.

Diners have two options for their Sichuan soup: spicy or really spicy. Guests choose the uncooked food to cook in the boiling stock and, once cooked, the meat and vegetables are dipped in mixtures of herbs and garlic.
