Students from Aksorn Suksa School joined Pattaya sanitation workers in collecting garbage and cleaning the area behind Banglamung Hospital, which has been overrun with stray dogs.

Deputy Mayor Poramet Ngampichet and city veterinarian Dr. Surapong Wongsuttawad joined the Nov. 15 school field trip with a host of public officials and 50 sixth and twelfth-grade students.

The idea was to clean the field fouled by mountains of feces from the dogs, several of whom city workers captured to take for vaccinations and sterilization at a Plutaluang shelter.

Those interested in helping the dogs through food donations at the Sattahip District shelter should call the Pattaya Call Center at 1337.
