Bikers from across the country donated 160,000 baht to repair Nongprue’s Ban Tungkom School.

Santi Boonsomya, president of the Pattaya Motorcycle Club, turned over the renovated school to Nongprue Mayor Mai Chaiyanit and sub-district council members Sept. 15.

The ceiling in four classrooms and windows in the kindergarten room were repaired while 20 new fans were installed throughout the school.

Santi said the funds are part of the “Making Merit Without Expectation” charity program that motorcycle clubs in all of Thailand’s four regions participate in, including the Pattaya and Rabbit Pattaya clubs.

The bikers also get financial support from Kasikornbank as part of its “100,000 Hours Doing Good for Society” program.

Bike clubs surveyed schools and temples across the country and drafted a priority list for renovations and upgrades. Next up, the bikers are trying to raise 800,000 baht to build a new crematorium at Ban Wangbol Temple in Ubon Ratchatani.
