On Saturday October 10th, ten Year 11-13 St. Andrews students spent a challenging and fruitful day at the Bangkok Model UN conference, at NIST in Bangkok. For most of them, this was their first experience of Model UN, and they were keen to do a good job.

Having spent the past few weeks carefully researching, writing positions papers and preparing resolutions, they joined their respective committees to debate important, current global issues such as the militarisation of space, international drug trafficking and the development and promotion of renewable energies.

Green Valley Students joined over 300 students from around Thailand participating in Thailand’s annual model UN.

Several resolutions were successfully passed and the delegates enjoyed the chance to develop and sharpen their negotiation skills with over 300 other students. In the words of UN protocol, ‘Clapping is in order.’ Well done to you all!
