The Pattaya Women’s Development Club has joined the effort to create artificial flowers for the cremation of HM the late King.

Club President Naowarat Khakhay hosted the June 20 meeting at the Ruan Thai restaurant, saying she hopes members can together make 30,000 “dararath”, or daffodils for the Oct. 26 ceremony in Bangkok.

The club will meet Mondays through August, with the flowers given to Banglamung District to donaate the Royal Household Bureau.

The club earlier had opened a flower-making zone at the Central Marina shopping center June 15. That zone will be open until Aug. 30.

The Artificial Flowers for Dad Club has been meeting weekly since April 10 at Photisampan Temple to create 10,000 flowers. The army last month sent teens caught using drugs to the temple to assist those volunteers.
