
PATTAYA, Thailand – A young woman was safely rescued after becoming distressed on a pedestrian bridge near the Central Pattaya intersection on Sukhumvit Road on April 18.
Police and rescue volunteers responded to reports of a woman, 25, in emotional distress on the bridge in Nongprue. When officers arrived, local residents and motorcycle taxi riders were already trying to calm and comfort her.
After speaking with her and carefully approaching the situation, bystanders were able to bring her back to safety before handing her over to police and rescue personnel.
People at the scene said the woman appeared upset and had been walking around the area before going onto the bridge. Concerned residents quickly contacted authorities and stayed nearby to help until the situation was resolved.
Relatives later told local media that she had been dealing with personal stress and had previously struggled with depression.
Officials praised the quick response of local residents, motorcycle taxi riders, police, and rescue workers, whose actions helped prevent the incident from ending in tragedy.
