Port officials showed Wuthi procedures used to check inbound foreign ships, including their crews, and the procedures for inspecting imported and exported cargo.

Officials demonstrated the use of special equipment that can look inside containers to thoroughly inspect the goods.

The port utilizes modern navigational systems with the help of satellites that can pinpoint the exact location of a ship at all times. These systems and procedures act as a deterrent to any illegal activities.

The port is also equipped with surveillance equipment installed on top of a 20-story tower from which point officials and staff can oversea the entire port area, including the loading and unloading of containers.

The deputy police chief was satisfied with the workings of the port and was confident that Laem Chabang port complied with international standards, ready to play a vital role in the coming Asian Economic Community.
