PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a warning for summer storms affecting the northern, central, and upper southern regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity. The storms are expected to bring thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated hailstorms.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast, a moderate high-pressure system from China is spreading over northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea, while hot weather prevails over the country. These conditions will lead to summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong winds, and occasional hail in some areas. There is also a possibility of lightning strikes in certain regions.

Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions, avoiding open spaces, large trees, weak structures, and billboards. Farmers should prepare to protect their crops and livestock from potential damage. Additionally, the changing weather conditions may impact people’s health.

Meanwhile, strong easterly winds are affecting the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea, resulting in increased rainfall in the South. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are expected to reach about 1 meter in height, with waves exceeding 2 meters in stormy areas.

From March 31 to April 3, an easterly wind surge will move across the eastern region, the Gulf of Thailand, and the South. Coupled with strengthening easterly and southeasterly winds over the Gulf and the Andaman Sea, this will lead to increased rainfall, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain and strong gusty winds.
