ATM skimmers are being blamed for a Pattaya Hospital staffer losing all her savings.
Supawinee Pradubkam, 38, filed a police complaint Oct. 21 after 35,000 baht disappeared from her Krungthai Bank account.
The medical-radiation technician said she went to Bangkok Oct. 17 and went to withdraw cash from a teller machine and found it had a balance of only 2,000 instead of the expected 37,000 baht.
Medical-radiation technician Supawinee Pradubkam reports to police how her life savings went missing, most likely due to a gang of ATM skimmers.
Checking her statement, she found four withdrawals from an unknown Khung Sri Bank ATM that she didn’t make. Her last withdrawal had been from an ATM in front of Pattaya Hospital.
Police speculated that the ATM had been fitted with a skimmer and that she was one of many victims. The investigation is continuing.
