PATTAYA, Thailand – Residents and visitors in Pattaya can expect another hot day, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

The department’s 24-hour forecast indicates that much of upper Thailand is experiencing hot daytime conditions due to a heat-induced low-pressure system covering the region. Pattaya and the wider eastern region will see similar weather, with temperatures climbing during the day and a small chance of thunderstorms in some areas.

In Pattaya, daytime temperatures are expected to reach around 35–38°C, while nighttime temperatures may drop to 26–28°C. Thunderstorms are forecast to affect about 10 percent of the area, and when they occur, they may bring short bursts of heavy rain and strong gusty winds.

Authorities advise residents, tourists, and long-term visitors to take precautions against the heat, such as staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged outdoor exposure during peak afternoon temperatures, and seeking shade whenever possible.

Weather officials also warn that sudden storms may develop, potentially bringing strong winds that could affect beach activities and traffic in exposed coastal areas.

For those heading out to sea around Pattaya and the eastern Gulf of Thailand, conditions remain relatively calm overall, with waves averaging about one meter, but waves may rise higher than one meter in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Small boat operators are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing during stormy conditions.

Meanwhile, air quality in several parts of upper Thailand remains moderate to fairly high for dust accumulation due to limited air circulation, although coastal breezes in Pattaya may help disperse some pollutants.

With the hot season intensifying, Pattaya continues to experience the typical pre-Songkran heat, occasionally interrupted by brief but intense storms.
