Police trying to net a major eastern drug dealer climbed another rung on the ladder with the arrest of an alleged lower-level dealer in Sattahip.

Koranat Charoenree, 32, was taken into custody March 21 with 177 methamphetamine tablets and 0.4 grams of crystal meth, paraphernalia and 20 9-milimeter bullets at Sirikul Village.

Police used a drug user who claimed to have purchased previously from Koranat to set up a fake buy. The suspect had barricaded himself inside his home, however, requiring authorities to break in to arrest him hiding in his mother’s bedroom.

Once under interrogation, Koranat started talking, police said, giving them the last of the information they needed to draw a picture of the drug network run by a dealer known as “Man Sriracha” who sells 2,000 ya ba tablets at a time to local dealers.
