A Plutaluang village celebrated the coronation of King Rama X, but also pledged to follow the teachings his late father.

Sattahip District Chief Anucha Intasorn presided over a development project event in the Nonyanoi Community May 7 where residents celebrated the King’s coronation by planting yellow star trees.

But he, along with residents and newly elected MP Satira Plukpraphan resolved to embrace the “sufficiency economy” philosophy of late King Bhumibol.

Villagers said they would adhere to the late King’s ideals of family accounting, creating a self-sufficient village development plan, make their community garbage free, do public service on a monthly basis, promote vocational training, manage debt and promote saving, create a learning center, arranging a welfare fund, remove all vice, propel community enterprise activities, and take care of residents to create happiness.

Anucha said a village from 878 districts in 76 provinces will take the same pledge to remember King Rama IX.
