PATTAYA, Thailand — Pattaya is expected to experience slightly warmer daytime temperatures over the next 24 hours, while early mornings will remain cool with light haze, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

The department said the weakening of the high-pressure system covering upper Thailand is allowing temperatures to rise marginally, though cool conditions persist in the mornings across much of the country, including the eastern seaboard.

In Pattaya and Chonburi province, skies will be partly cloudy with light morning mist. Temperatures are forecast to range from around 20–25°C in the early hours, rising to 33–35°C during the day, accompanied by moderate northeast winds of 15–30 km/h. Sea conditions along the eastern coast are expected to remain relatively calm, with waves averaging about 1 metre.

While the eastern region sees generally stable conditions, the Meteorological Department warned that southern Thailand will face increasing rainfall, particularly in lower southern provinces between December 25–28, as the northeast monsoon strengthens over the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Some areas may experience heavy to very heavy rain, raising concerns over localized flooding and accumulated rainfall.

Mariners operating in the Gulf of Thailand, especially in areas affected by thunderstorms, have been advised to proceed with caution, as waves could exceed 2 metres during stormy periods.

Meanwhile, air quality remains a concern in parts of the country. The department reported moderate to fairly high levels of dust and haze in central Thailand, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, due to poor air circulation. In contrast, air quality in eastern provinces, including Pattaya, remains within good to moderate levels.

Authorities continue to advise residents and visitors to take care of their health during changing weather conditions, particularly during cool mornings and warmer afternoons.
