PATTAYA, Thailand – Motorists have complained about newly completed roadworks linking Soi 4 and Soi 5 with Second Road in Pattaya, where uneven asphalt and drainage grilles sitting below the road surface reportedly cause low-clearance vehicles to scrape their underbodies.

Photos shared on social media show sections of newly paved asphalt sitting higher than the drainage grilles, leaving a noticeable difference in level. White scrape marks can also be seen on the road surface, prompting concerns about potential damage to vehicles passing through the area.

Some people have suggested that the road surface may settle over time, potentially reducing the difference in level. However, the complaint calls on Pattaya City officials to inspect the site and assess whether adjustments are needed to make the road safer for motorists.

The post also questions the quality of the construction work and how the finished road passed inspection, raising concerns about whether the road surface and drainage grilles have been properly leveled for everyday traffic.
