PATTAYA, Thailand – As northern Thailand continues to experience cool to cold conditions, Pattaya and the eastern seaboard are entering a period of milder mornings, light haze, and gradually rising daytime temperatures, according to the Meteorological Department’s latest 24-hour forecast.

The high-pressure system that previously brought strong cool air over the north and northeast has weakened, resulting in warmer weather and morning mist across much of the country. While the change eases the intense chill felt upcountry, it also allows air pollutants to linger, raising concerns about air quality in urban and traffic-heavy areas.

Local conditions in Pattaya are expected to remain comfortable, with cool mornings and daytime temperatures increasing by one to two degrees Celsius. Daily lows are likely to sit around 22–24°C, while afternoon highs could reach 31–33°C. Early-morning haze may be noticeable, especially near the coastline and in low-lying areas, but the overall weather will be pleasant for outdoor activities.

Meteorologists warn that weaker winds across the region may allow fine dust and haze to accumulate. Residents and visitors with respiratory concerns should limit prolonged outdoor exposure during calm mornings and late evenings and take care to protect themselves from irritation.

The southern coast, including the Gulf of Thailand near Pattaya, will see mostly dry conditions as the northeast monsoon weakens. Seas will remain calm, with waves generally around one meter, rising slightly in areas with isolated thunderstorms. Boaters are advised to exercise caution in rough patches.

Despite the generally favorable weather, authorities continue to urge residents to take care of their health, particularly older adults and those with chronic illnesses, as even mild temperature fluctuations can trigger colds, flu, and other respiratory conditions. With winter tourism in full swing, visitors can enjoy Pattaya’s beaches, viewpoints, and outdoor attractions while staying mindful of light haze episodes and the transition from cool mornings to warm afternoons.
