PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s tourism authorities and Tourist Police have joined forces in Pattaya to strengthen visitor confidence through improved security measures, technology demonstrations, and closer coordination with local agencies. On July 17, Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul chaired a mobile meeting in Pattaya to gather opinions and discuss future tourism strategies for Chonburi province. The meeting was held at the Grand Centre Point Pattaya Hotel and attended by Tourist Police Commissioner Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Phuak-am, senior Tourist Police officials, Chonburi provincial authorities, and local security representatives.
Later that evening, authorities launched a safety operation in Pattaya’s Walking Street area, featuring demonstrations of a mobile command vehicle, operational drones, and AI-powered surveillance camera systems. The initiative aims to improve safety management in major tourist areas while providing faster responses to incidents and enhancing confidence among both Thai and international visitors. The operation included participation from Tourist Police Bureau executives, Tourist Police Region 1 and Region 2 commanders, Chonburi provincial police representatives, and local officers. Officials said the use of technology and cooperation among agencies will play an increasingly important role in maintaining Pattaya’s reputation as a safe and welcoming international tourism destination.
