PATTAYA, Thailand – While southern provinces brace for torrential downpours and stormy seas, Pattaya residents are waking up to cool mornings and gradually rising daytime temperatures, according to the latest update from the Meteorological Department.
The department reported that a strong monsoon trough continues to pass over the lower South, causing heavy rain in parts of Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, and Phang Nga. Locals in these areas are urged to watch for flash floods, runoff, and difficult travel conditions, especially near rivers and low-lying farmland.
Over the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea, winds remain moderate with waves of 1–2 meters, rising above 2 meters in thunderstorm zones. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing where thunderstorms are active.
Meanwhile, upper Thailand, including Chonburi and Pattaya, will see temperatures edge slightly higher, though mornings remain pleasantly cool as the high-pressure system from China weakens. Only isolated light rain is expected across the region.
Locals and long-term visitors in Pattaya can expect comfortable weather during the mornings and slightly warmer afternoons over the next few days, ideal for outdoor activities — but should stay alert for sudden changes in humidity as the season transitions.
