Department head Chaloemchai Yomsrikane led the Aug. 1 drill by 10 employees to practice fire-fighting and rescue techniques.

Rescuers unwound hoses before releasing water at specific pressures, ensuring the spray was spread wide enough to cover the target.

Participants also demonstrated how to evacuate victims from a burning building and help those stranded. Fire hydrant use also was practiced and hand signs introduced to allow better communication.

Other activities included preparing victims for medical transport.

Chaloemchai said rescues become more complicated in high-rise situations and the day’s drills were meant to practice skills in case of real-life emergencies.
