Chonburi Immigration Office staffers got to meet their new commanding officers during a briefing in Jomtien Beach.
Newly named superintendent Pol. Col. Kathathon Khamtieng and top deputy Lt. Col. Thawatchai Nongbuaron met with the rank and file to lay out their policies and priorities June 13.
Kathathon was most recently superintendent of Prachuab Kirikhan Immigration. He is the son of Pol. Col. Saneh Khamtieng, former chief of Chonburi Police who is now retired.
Kathathon stressed that foreigners applying or changing their visa must apply in the area where they are employed, live or go to school.
He also reviewed policies for nationality verification for alien laborers, the timeliness of granting extensions of stay and applying for re-entry permits.
