The HTMS Angthong and HTMS Makutrachakuman were dispatched Jan. 3 from the Sattahip Naval Base to steam southward to help anticipated disaster victims from the storm that hit 10 southern provinces Jan. 4.

Two aircraft from the Naval Special Warfare Command also were deployed along with medical units, engineers and heavy equipment under the command of Rear Adm. Chawin Weingwised.
