PATTAYA, Thailand – While northeastern and eastern Thailand brace for heavy rainfall, Pattaya is enjoying a more balanced October, with plenty of sunshine interspersed with refreshing showers. European tourists and long-term visitors often dream of this weather—warm, tropical days softened by occasional rains, creating perfect beach and sightseeing conditions.

The Meteorological Department reports that parts of the Northeast and Eastern provinces, including Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chanthaburi, and Trat, may see heavy downpours, while Bangkok and the surrounding metropolitan area face 60% chances of thunderstorms. Wave heights in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand range from 1–2 meters, with higher waves in stormy areas.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Matmo has weakened and made landfall in southern China, posing no threat to Thailand.

For Pattaya, the mix of sun and occasional showers creates ideal conditions for beachgoers, watersport enthusiasts, and holidaymakers seeking a tropical escape without the intensity of monsoon storms. This combination of warm sun, gentle rains, and vibrant seaside life is exactly what European visitors often long for when traveling to Thailand this time of year.
