PATTAYA, Thailand – Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya created a once-in-a-lifetime Valentine’s Day experience by hosting its signature “Marriage Registration on Elephant Backs” event, allowing couples to begin their married life amid one of the world’s top ten most beautiful gardens.

The event took place on Saturday morning at 9.00 a.m., welcoming Thai and international couples to celebrate their union surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant floral landscapes. The initiative blended romance, culture, and tourism, reinforcing Thailand’s soft power image on the global stage.

The registrations were conducted at the Sky Garden, beautifully decorated with tens of thousands of flowering plants in full bloom, creating a romantic setting often described as a “garden of love.”

The highlight of the event was a grand traditional procession featuring nine couples riding atop nine elephants in an elegant parade. The procession was accompanied by more than 100 Nong Nooch performers, showcasing Thai cultural performances and ceremonial traditions. This year, more than 100 participants registered for the event, with marriages conducted under Thailand’s marriage equality law, reflecting the country’s inclusive and open-minded society.

Organizers said the event exemplified how love, Thai culture, and high-quality tourism can be seamlessly combined. Elements such as the traditional engagement procession, Thai elephants, cultural performances, and world-class botanical gardens all contributed to showcasing Thailand’s unique cultural identity.

Couples who registered their marriages during the event received complimentary access to the 1,700-rai garden, which features more than 60 themed gardens. They also enjoyed an elephant ride during the registration ceremony and received a sacred plant as a keepsake to symbolize good fortune and lasting love.

Nong Nooch Pattaya is open daily from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
