Locals call for odd-even parking rules to be enforced far beyond South Pattaya Road.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Residents and visitors are calling for stricter and more widespread enforcement of parking regulations across Pattaya, following ongoing campaigns on South Pattaya Road urging motorists to park on the correct side according to odd-even days. Authorities have also asked drivers to lock vehicles parked around Bali Hai Pier, where congestion from cars, vans, and tour buses remains a problem.

Many locals suggest expanding the campaign to key choke points — including U-turn areas, red-and-white curb zones, and busy intersections such as Thepprasit Market — where illegal parking routinely blocks traffic flow. Comments on social media reflect frustration toward “stubborn” drivers who ignore signs, with some urging daily fines and vehicle locks to deter violations.

Some even propose channeling fine revenues into city improvements, while others highlight persistent problems near hotels, taxi stands, and commercial hotspots. The consensus is clear: sustained, citywide enforcement is needed to keep Pattaya’s roads safe, orderly, and accessible.

Residents push for daily fines and vehicle locks to rein in stubborn violators.
