Daniel Anthony Stalley, 34, and John Lee, 43, still could face criminal charges depending on the extent of the injuries to their two victims, identified only as Natapong and Polrath.

Thai media reported that the incident began six days earlier when the bikers, driving in a black pickup truck, collided with a motorcycle near a beer bar in South Pattaya, but failed to stop. They were pursued by a gang of Thais who began pounding the truck with bricks, machetes and golf clubs when the vehicle stopped.

Most of the gang quickly fled when they saw the size of the big bikers that emerged from the truck, but two laggards were chased down. Only then did someone start recording the incident on video, later uploading it the internet.

The video showed the Aussies giving the Thai vandals a good kicking. The men explained their justification to police, but agreed to pay off the Thais to close the case.
