A French-Thai couple were arrested for allegedly stealing their Pattaya landlord’s pickup truck.

Albert Bachtoula Cherif, 57, and Nannapat Krawin, 31, were captured in Ao Nang Beach in Krabi and brought back to Pattaya Sept. 12.

They were charged with vehicle theft after they supposedly borrowed a Ford Ranger owned by condo owner Wiroj Jandaharn, 48. The couple allegedly told Wiroj they were interested in buying the truck, but wanted to take it for a test drive.

He agreed, but they never came back.

Police checked security cameras at various checkpoints and found the truck in Yasothon, but they didn’t have it by the time officers tracked them to Krabi.

The couple confessed they sold the truck for 75,000 baht to a Thai man in the Issan province.
