Eastern journalists reflect on 2011

Pattaya-area journalists looked back on 2011 and celebrated an early New Year as the Eastern Media of Thailand Association held its annual meeting.

Chonburi Deputy Gov. Pongsak Preechawit opened the Dec. 21 confab at the Tai Hee Restaurant in Chonburi and EMTA President Phadungsak Tontraworasit summarized the group’s activities for the past 12 months.

Recently re-elected president for the eighth year, Phadungsak said the association played key roles in society through its consumer protection, anti-drug, elections and education committees.

The group awarded its 2011 “Good Citizen” awards to Kiettisak Laknakokiet of Chonburi TV 5, Sukrit Akhalerdlaap, president of the Eastern Market Club, Jumnot Plong-udom, and Bangpla-sroi postman Prasert Chanthsin.
