East Pattaya checkpoint looks for guns, drugs

Police were looking for drugs and guns when they set up a checkpoint near the railroad tracks in East Pattaya.

Pol. Maj. Tongthong Pattanadisai, chief traffic officer from Banglamung Police Station, said 10 officers manned the checkpoint at the railway-parallel road near the intersection of Soi Nongyai 7/5.

He said the checkpoint was set up on orders by the station commander to boost the security of residents and tourists. Officers are looking for weapons and drugs, and checking for driving licenses and vehicle registrations.

The checkpoint was equipped with a breathalyzer to check suspected drunken drivers.
