About 500 community health volunteers continued their training to improve the quality of health care in Pattaya.

Deputy Mayor Poramet Ngampichet opened the Jan. 11 workshop, one of six held each year for volunteers.

Lecturers from the Chonburi and Banglamung District public health departments, Banglamung Hospital and other organizations taught the day’s lessons.

Topics covered use of a mobile application to receive “trustworthy” information on medicines, the “Smart Volunteer” app used when visiting patients, and brush-up lessons on emergency first response techniques.

The event also saw 39 volunteers honored for 10 and 20 years of service and 16 awards to neighborhood clinics and outstanding volunteers. (PCPR)
